•  Every child is a whole person, not a vocabulary list to fill.
• Real learning shows up when a child uses what they know in a new situation — not when they repeat it back.
• Children learn best by doing: playing, moving, singing, creating, and talking.
• Emotion drives learning. We'd rather a child enjoy Spanish than memorize it.
• We meet each child at their level — including using Spanglish as a bridge for children with little or no prior exposure to Spanish.

•  Language as experience, not isolated content — children listen, play, create, imagine, and converse, in a way a repetitive drill app never could.
• Emotional connection as the starting point, not an extra — losing the fear of making mistakes comes before any lasting language progress.
• Born in the classroom, not at a desk — the program comes from Gloria Baena's trajectory as an educator since 1984 and 25 years of progressive development since 2001.
• Original materials, made specifically for this program — stories, characters, songs, and guides, instead of generic materials adapted from somewhere else.
• Real adaptation to age, Spanish level, and context — including Spanglish as a bridge — something rigid immersion models don't allow for.

We're proud of what 25 years of hands-on teaching have shown us — and just as honest about what we're still building: formal before-and-after studies, a structured system for collecting family feedback, and a formal alignment matrix with standards like ACTFL, WIDA, and Common Core World Languages. These are identified priorities as we grow toward larger, district-level partnerships.
